Practical Information

Best Season to Visit:

  • Tanzania: For wildlife, June to October is dry season. For climbing Kilimanjaro, January-March and June-October are the best times. However, with the latest evolutions and climate change, you can have clouds and even rain during dry season and wonderful days during the rain season. And sometimes the lower frequentation off-season makes your trip even better and more affordable.
  • Zanzibar: June to October and December to February offer the best beach weather.

Temperature:

  • Varies from cool in the highlands of Tanzania to tropical on the coast and in Zanzibar.

Visa Requirements:

  • Most visitors can apply for a visa online or obtain one upon arrival. Always make sure you check the latest visa requirements on the official government website, or just give us a call.

Getting Ready for Departure

  • Local Currency: Tanzanian Shilling (TZS) for mainland, but USD is widely accepted in Zanzibar.
  • Culture & Dress Code: Respectful, modest clothing is advised, especially when visiting villages or religious sites.
  • Language: Swahili is the national language, with English widely spoken, especially in tourist areas.
  • Electronics: Tanzania and Zanzibar use the British-style plug (Type G). An adapter is essential for most travelers.
